The Sask. Railway Museum has a buy-a-tie programme to help support building new track.

For just $25, you can have your name or family name assigned to a rail tie with a number and receive a tax receipt.

The Sask. Railway Museum on the Pike Lake highway has two big events coming up over the next week! Join us!

1. Official season opening – we will open for the season on Saturday May 19th at 10 am. See our homepage for times, dates, and prices. Note: we are closed to the public on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday (pre-arranged tours excepted). We have 300 feet of new track; come check it out and take a ride down the rails!

2. On May 25th at 11 am, the Ukrainian Canadian Council, Sask Provincial Council and the Saskatchewan German Council will unveil an interpretative plaque and memorial garden commemorating the internment of Ukrainian and German prisoners of war in 1919 at the museum site, formerly known as Eaton. The public is welcome to attend.  See details below.

2018 AGM Annual Report

The SRM has kicked off its 2018 operating season with its Annual General Meeting in January.

This Sunday, February 4th, we will be at the Saskatoon Heritage Festival at the WDM, Noon to 5 pm. Stop by and say ‘Hello’!

On February 24/25th we will be at the Saskatoon (Model) Train Show, also at the WDM. Details below.

Volunteers are welcome for both events.

The Annual General Meeting of the Saskatchewan Railroad Historical Association will be held January 27, 2018 at 3:00 pm in the meeting room at the Grasswood’s Smitty’s restaurant.

Grasswood’s Smitty’s is located at the intersection of Grasswood Road and Highway 11 in the Rural Municipality of Corman Park, Saskatchewan immediately south of the City of Saskatoon.

A (short) regular membership meeting will immediately follow the adjournment of the AGM.

The Annual Awards Ceremony will be held at 5:00 pm in the meeting room at the Grasswood’s Smitty’s restaurant. A no-host dinner will follow the Awards Ceremony. If we have at least 20 people confirm their attendance by January 13th the restaurant will provide a roast beef buffet dinner at a cost of $14.95 plus GST and gratuity including coffee or tea.
