Check out our Eaton Memorial page for an update on the Commemoration Ceremony held this month at Hawker Siding. The Ukrainian Canadian Prov Congress (SK) and Sask German Council commemorated the declaration of the War Measures Act in 1914 that began the process for internment of 65 prisoners on this site.

THERE WILL BE A SPECIAL RECOGNITION CEREMONY AT THE SASK RAILWAY MUSEUM

ON OCTOBER 28, 2014 AT 11:00 AM AND YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND.

THIS CEREMONY WILL RECOGNIZE THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DECLARATION OF THE WAR MEASURES ACT THAT BEGAN WWI.

RERPESENTATIVES OF THE UKRAINIAN CANADIAN COMMITTEE AND THE GERMAN CULTURAL ASSOCIATION WILL BE ON HAND TO RECOGNIZE THIS EVENT.

The SRM has a volunteer work crew that meets at the museum one day each week to attend to maintenance projects like carpentry, auto mechanics, painting, and puttering. If you would like to join our crew, contact the museum under ‘Contact Us’ and we will track you down. Or stop by the museum just about any Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm.
