The SRM has kicked off its 2018 operating season with its Annual General Meeting in January.

This Sunday, February 4th, we will be at the Saskatoon Heritage Festival at the WDM, Noon to 5 pm. Stop by and say ‘Hello’!

On February 24/25th we will be at the Saskatoon (Model) Train Show, also at the WDM. Details below.

Volunteers are welcome for both events.

And remember our official opening: Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10 am. See you then!

 

NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
SASKATCHEWAN RAILROAD HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION
The Annual General Meeting of the Saskatchewan Railroad Historical Association will be held January 27, 2018 at 3:00 pm in the meeting room at the Grasswood’s Smitty’s restaurant.

Grasswood’s Smitty’s is located at the intersection of Grasswood Road and Highway 11 in the Rural Municipality of Corman Park, Saskatchewan immediately south of the City of Saskatoon.

A (short) regular membership meeting will immediately follow the adjournment of the AGM.

The Annual Awards Ceremony will be held at 5:00 pm in the meeting room at the Grasswood’s Smitty’s restaurant. A no-host dinner will follow the Awards Ceremony. If we have at least 20 people confirm their attendance by January 13th the restaurant will provide a roast beef buffet dinner at a cost of $14.95 plus GST and gratuity including coffee or tea. We are currently closed for the winter sesaon. We will re-open on the May long weekend.

Volunteers continue to maintain the museum site as weather permits.

Our museum continues to be open Friday to Sunday and holiday Mondays until Labour Day.

Stop by and take a ride on the rails. Visit our gift shop. Group tours are available as well.

Railway Heritage Day 2017 was a big success this year. Over 500 visitors came out. Thanks to everyone who contributed: the museum volunteers and staff, the car show attendees, the food truck, and mainly all the visitors!

An exhibit of 20th Century Saskatchewan photographs collected by Adrian Paton will be on display at the Sask. Railway Museum starting July 1st.

It is located in the Kopko interpretative centre, near the newly-relocated John Diefenbaker display.

We will be open on July 1st and we will be hosting a special traveling exhibit.
